Southwire Company, LLC is one of the world’s largest wire and cable manufacturers. Following a materiality assessment to identify and prioritize the company’s most significant sustainability topics, BrownFlynn led the development of Southwire’s first GRI G4 core option sustainability report. This interactive online report—a signature piece now utilized by multi-stakeholder groups—showcases Southwire’s management approach, goals, and progress in all material topics and highlights specific examples of how Southwire is enhancing sustainability.
Building on the sustainability report, BrownFlynn created one-page sales sheets for two divisions to showcase sustainability accomplishments and attributes that best resonate with their key customer segments. To determine the sustainability attributes to highlight, BrownFlynn identified key themes across Southwire’s largest customers for each division.

Southwire used its G4 core option report as the best representation of the company during due diligence for its international acquisition of a manufacturing plant in Huntersville, N.C. Stakeholders from 90 countries accessed Southwire’s sustainability report in the first four months after it launched.
