One of the women featured in the book who provides candid insights and advice on her leadership journey is Jacqueline (Jackie) Woods, retired president of AT&T Ohio.

Jackie shares her success as a female business leader through her experiences with mentorship, consensus-building and maintaining a strong sense of self.

As the first woman to be president of a major public utility company, Jackie oversaw the transformation from a regulated utility to a consumer-driven competitive communication company.

Jackie currently serves on the board of directors for The Timken Company and The Andersons Inc., and formerly on the boards of School Specialty and Office Max. She is a former board chair and trustee of Kent State University; a trustee of Muskingum University, University Hospitals Case Medical Center, and the Cleveland Bluecoats; and is a national trustee of the Association of Governing Boards.

During her career Jackie has served on over 20 civic and non-profit boards; is a chair emeritus of the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the American Red Cross and Great Lakes Science Center; and has received numerous awards including the YWCA Lifetime Achievement Award (2008), Athena Award (2009), was inducted into the Northeast Ohio Inside Business Hall of Fame in 2010, and most recently won The Cleveland Foundation Women of Note Legacy Award.
