Environmental Defense
Fund
Environmental Defense Fund was founded in 1967 by a small group of
scientists; they've relied on science to help define their policy goals ever
since. EDF today has more Ph.D. scientists and economists engaged in
advocacy than any other similar organization. Their biologists and chemists
are deeply involved in the most critical environmental challenge of our
time, global warming. Check out their

The Program
for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI)

established in 1989 at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL),
located in the San Francisco Bay area. The PCMDI is funded by the Climate
Change Research Division of the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of
Science, Biological and Environmental Research (BER) program, and its
mission is to develop improved methods and tools for the diagnosis and
comparison of general circulation models (GCMs) that simulate the global
climate. Current PCMDI projects include climate model comparison and
devising methods for climate change detection and attribution. Log on to

information about climate change. Its role is to assess the latest
literature produced worldwide relevant to understanding the risk of
human-induced climate change. IPCC reports aim to reflect a range of views,
expertise and wide geographical coverage. In 2007, the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change and Albert Arnold (Al) Gore Jr. were awarded the
